We invite papers that develop an understanding of sensation (in any of its senses) in relation to works of literature. The literary work or works discussed might be drawn from any period and from any language (though the papers will need to be presented in English). The association considers works of literature to be important cultural objects, and considers these works themselves to be the principle focus of study. While we welcome any consistent methodological approach to the works examined, we have a particular interest in how literature interacts with other disciplines and intellectual standpoints (such as science, philosophy, history and politics) and encourage contributions that seek to question what works of literature can do (how they affect us, and why).
Proposals should be between 200 and 300 words in length. They should be sent via email by April 30, 2007 to
